Hospital community benefit grants that must address a significant health need named in the local hospital's Community Health Needs Assessment or implementation strategy, serving underserved populations in that hospital's service area.

- Applicant must be a 501(c)(3) or work through a 501(c)(3) fiscal agent, and the project must serve the participating hospital's own service area. Standard grants of $20,000 and above require collaborating partner organizations with substantive roles, so a university unit typically enters as a named partner rather than sole applicant.
